Chris Peckham, LCPC, NCC

Chris Peckham, LCPC, NCC has been working with teens and young adults for over 13 years. Prior to joining The Chesapeake Center, Mr. Peckham worked with older teens and young adults in a variety of settings including summer camps, wilderness therapy, therapeutic boarding schools and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs). He has served in the roles of mentor, therapist, clinical director and program leader.
Mr. Peckham has focused his clinical work on helping older adolescents and young adults make a successful transition to independence. He brings a strength-based approach to his clients with training in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy. Mr. Peckham helps clients reconsider themselves and their value, empowering clients to develop self-efficacy, motivation and self-confidence. He has a rare ability to reach those hard-to-reach youths and to help them build confidence and competence so that they can move ahead in their lives in a constructive way.
In addition to his work as a therapist, Mr. Peckham has worked in a managerial capacity, supervising other therapists as the Clinical Director of Potomac Pathways and later as the Executive Director of Potomac Pathways. He has joined Chesapeake to serve at the management level while also working to develop and provide services in programs targeting youth.
Education and Training:
Mr. Peckham holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University in South Carolina.

Mr. Peckham is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor.
